- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation (CSS) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, as supplemen ted with additional information included in this notice. This CSS is being issued as a Brand Name or Equal in accordance with FAR provision 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (Aug 1999). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicita tion will not be issued. The United States Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG) has a requirement for a Spectrolab Illumination System - Commercial High Intensity Searchlight (CHIS?) system to include: Junction Box, Control Box and Tripod (or equal) with the following minimum equipment requirements: 300 million candlepower illumination. Must operate on a nominal power source of 24 volt 60 amp DC. Must have variable, bean width, azimuth, and elevation, plus have the capability of controlling these functions remotely at distances of at least 300 feet. Must be proven to operate at 40 degree C. Must have the ability to be quickly set-up in all weather conditions. Must be man portable with no part weighing over 80 pounds. You must also provide present and pa st performance information with the name, address, point of contact of at least two (contracts, customers etc) that you have provided the same or similar services. It is anticipated that a contract with an estimated dollar amount will be awarded with a de livery period of 120 days. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-26 (20Dec04) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARs) current to DCN20041 215 edition. Government Visa Payment Card is the preferred method of payment. The Standard Classification Code (SIC) is 3629 and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 335999 with a size standard of 500 employees. Quotes shall be cl early marked W9124R-05-T-0012 Spectrolab Illumination System - Commercial High Intensity Searchlight (CHIS?) system and emailed to linda.renteria@yuma.army.mil or via facsimile (928) 328-6849 no later than 3:00 P.M Mountain Standard Time (MST) 05 January 2 005. Offerors who fail to furnish the required representations or information as required by 52. 212-1, 52.212-3, and 52.212-7001 cited below, or reject terms and conditions of this CSS may be excluded from consideration. The Government intends to award a contract to the responsible bidder whose quote conforming to the solicitation will be the most advantageous to the Government based on acceptability and price.
