- The Federal Bureau of Prisons - Federal Medical Center, Lexington Kentucky intends to make a single award for the following: To provide technical supervisory services in the Laboratory Department at the Federal Medical Center/Federal Prison Camp, Lexington, Kentucky. The institution is a medical referral center for Federal prisoners incarcerated with the Federal Bureau of Prisons located in Lexington Kentucky. The contractor shall provide quality director functions to ensure compliance with CAP and other regulatory guidelines in the Laboratory Department which may include but not be limited to: implementation and monitoring of quality management program for the laboratory, proficiency testing review, staff competency testing, oversight of new equipment implementation. The contractor must possess at a minimum a bachelor?s degree in medical technology and ASCP certification. The work schedule shall normally consist of five sessions per week with sessions being eight hours in length and a ? hour, unpaid lunch break. The days of service will be Monday thru Friday. Services must be performed between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm. No services shall be provided on weekends or official government holidays. The Contracting Officer anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery, requirements type contract. The contract period shall be from date of award not exceed 120 workdays. The solicitation will be available on or about November 15, 2004 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administrations Federal Business opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of proposals will be on or about December 22, 2004. The North American Industry Classification System Code for this solicitation is 541990. The solicitation is set aside for a small business, temporary help service provider. Note: A temporary help service provider in not and individual. Note: The individual assigned to provide the service by the service provider will be required to pass a security screening to include drug testing for marijuana and other drug usage.
