Description
On or about 07 April 2004, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Bank Stabilization, Short Creek, Big Bend Project, Chamberlain, SD. Bids will be opened on or about 07 May 2004. This project is set-aside under the Histori cally Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program. To be considered for award, successful bidder must be a certified HUBZone contractor. Status as a qualified HUBZone small business concern is determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in ac cordance with 13 CFR part 126. If the SBA determines that a concern is a qualified HUBZone small business concern, it will issue a certification to that effect and will add the concern to the List of Qualified HUBZone Small Business Concerns on its Intern et website at http://www.sba.gov/hubzone. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact: Mike Trumm, Big Bend Project, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, HC 69, Box 74, Chamberlain, South Dakota 57325, (mailing address) Telephone (605) 245 2255. FAX (605) 245-2555. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Ordering below. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Project consists of bank stabilization to protect an old Arikara village site located approximately 3.5 miles downstream of Big Bend Dam. Work will include the placement of approximately 2000 CY of random fill, 6000 SY of Geotextile fabric and 8,500 Tons o f riprap. Work also includes the construction of a 1.6 mile dirt haul road to the site. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work i n the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. The plans and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format. Contractors may view and/or download this project from the Internet at the following Internet address: http://ebs-nwo.usace.army.mil Ordering of CD-ROM shall be made through the Internet address above. To register on the Omaha District website, go to the Solicitation Registration section of the synopsis and click on the link for Registering. Amendments will be available through the Int ernet address indicated above. Contractors, Subcontractors and suppliers shall be responsible to check the internet address for amendments.); If any of the information changes during the advertisement period, submit the information via e-mail to tracey.s.mckay@usace.army.mil or by written request or fax.
