- NASA/GRC has a requirement for a TM1200 48-inch Flanged Cryopump System and spare parts for the TM1200. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from PHPK Technologies, Columbus, OH. PHPK Technologies is the manufacturer of the products. This Cryopump System is to be used with the already existing PHPK TM1200's currently used in our vacuum facility. We need the same pump as already existing pumps to integrate into our infrastructure. The design is unique to PHPK Technologies. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in FAR Part 13. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 12/10/2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT -- IT IS A SOLE SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
