- The Army Contracting Agency Northern Region, Dugway Proving Ground, Utah Directorate of Contracting (hereinafter referred to as the Government) is seeking potential vendors to provide a Single Frequency Agile (FAL) CO2 Laser (a single CO2 laser tha t can quickly scan between pre-determined wavelengths) consisting of the following minimum requirements: (1) Power (average) e 100 W; (2) Energy per pulse e 1 J; (3) Pulse rate e 100 Hz; (4) Pulse duration between 100 ns to 5 ?s; and (5) Tunable from 9.3 ?m to 10.7 ?m. The purpose of this request for information is to determine (i) if there are sources capable of satisfying the Government requirements; (ii) to determine availability of commercial items or, to the extent commercial items suitable to m eet Government needs are not available, if non-development items are available that (A) Meet the Government requirements; (B) Could be modified to meet Government requirements; or (C) Could meet the Government requirements if those requirements were modifi ed to a reasonable extent, (iii) to understand the after sale support and warranties provided by the lidar industry, and (iv) identify the business size and socioeconomic classification (e.g., large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, e tc.) of all capable companies expressing interest. No proposals are being requested or accepted under this synopsis. Feedback addressing the clarity, feasibility, scope and potential alternative means of meeting the Government requirement is sought. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 333314 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The Government will consider all comments, supportive or critical, but may or may not use these in dividual comments. In addition to comments, those interested are requested to review the Government specifications stated above and state how their product fails to meet, meets or exceeds these requirements and provide a budgetary estimate for the System as specified. Interested sources are also encouraged to submit product literature in response to this Request for Information (RFI). Any submission of such product literature or catalog cut sheets will be treated separate from, and will have no bearing o n, any subsequent evaluation of proposals submitted in response to any resulting future formal Request for Proposals. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any informati on provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments.
