Description
The National Park Service (NPS) has contracted with General Services Administration (GSA) to provide technical assistance in comprehensive planning services for the future of the African Burial Ground, a site in Lower Manhattan (NYC) that is on property managed by the General Services Administration (GSA). A report will be produced to include elements of NPS interpretive planning, as well as park special resource study and general management planning elements. Guidelines defining the content of those elements will be provided. NPS is soliciting for a firm-fixed price contract for a highly qualified editor for the above report. The editior will work under the supervision of an NPS project planner and in collaboration with other NPS staff who are responsible for elements of the integrated report. The contractor for this project will provide editing of the full text of the draft and final NPS African Burial Ground Report to the General Services Administration. This is a small business set-aside. Vendors MUST be on GSA Schedule Contract. NAICS: 541613 The following specific criteria are required for this project: 1. Extensive editing experience of a creative nature, relating to mechanical, substantive and stylistic components of publications involving history, culture, the social sciences and arts. 2. Experience specific to the editing of documents with African American studies content and a demonstrated understanding of cultural concerns related to the history and legacy of enslavement, in order to adequately provide evaluations related to substance, ideas, language and presentation of information. 3. Geographically located in or near New York, NY or Philadelphia, PA and able to travel between them.
