- This procurement will be a 100% SBSA for the Side Voicemitter Assembly, NSN: 5965-01-441-0564, P/N 5-1-2917, required for use on the M45 Chemical Biological Masks. The Side Voicemitter Assembly provides speech capability to the M45 Mask. It consis ts of a top and bottom round nylon plastic parts ultrasonically bonded. Between the top and bottom parts is a round diaphragm sheet material and a rubber O ring that covers the perimeter of the diaphragm. The outer diameter assembly features a .143 pitch NATO thread that enables the Side Voicemitter to be screwed onto the NATO thread port of the mask. The Assembly measures approximately 1.5 in. dia. x .5 in. high. Planned issue date of the solicitation is 08 Dec 2004. The basic requirement is for 5000 S ide Voicemitters, Level B packaging, with two 100% options to purchase an additional 5000 each. In addition, there may be a requirement for an additional quantity of approximately 17,000 Side Voicemitters. These would be priced as a separate line item wi th bulk packaging, as part of this same acquisition. First Article Testing (FAT) is required. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.5 and 5.101 therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electroni c copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following Internet address: http//aais.ria.army.mil/aaiss/SOLINFO/index.htm and referencing the appropriate solicitation number. Hardcopies will not be provided. CAUTION: This solicitat ion will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. It is incumbent upon interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address to obtain any amendments, which may be issued. Failure to obtain amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the Internet. Upon t he issuance of the solicitation, interested vendors will be able to order a TDP CD-ROM by following the instructions on our open solicitation website. A TDP will be sent via surface mail upon successful completion of the TDP ordering process.
