Description
NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division intends on acquiring for Device 15F8H Serial Number 4 and Serial Number 5, high level architecture (HLA) integration for the E-2C Hawkeye 2000 Weapons Systems Trainer (WST) to support distributed training exercises by July 2006, located at Naval Station Norfolk, VA and Naval Air Station Pt Mugu, CA. The Navy wants these trainers to be interoperable utilizing HLA. HLA integration into the WST is a hardware and software modification to both trainers. As the Government does not, and will not, timely possess an accepted and validated technical data package to pursue a competitive acquisition strategy, it intends on pursuing a sole-source acquisition strategy to NLX Corporation, Sterling, VA. NLX Corporation is currently tasked under contract N61339-99-C-0084 to design, develop and fabricate a Hawkeye 2000 WST (Device 15F8H Serial Number 5) which is a follow-on to Device 15F8H S/N 4. However, the Device 15F8H Serial Number 5 tasking is inclusive of the design, development and integration of the full Hawkeye 2000 configuration whereas the Device 15F8H Serial Number 4 tasking does not possess these enhancements. This undertaking will retrofit the enhancements into Device 15F8H Serial Number 4. All questions and information should be directed to Contract Specialist, Linda Hill, via email at linda.a.hill@navy.mil or by phone 407-380-4107. See Note 22.
