- The government is seeking sources for Animal Feed and Bedding Services, Interested parties shall provide animal research feed and bedding required for approved Animal Research for the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System located at 3350 La Jolla Village Dr. San Diego, CA 92161. Contractor shall provide weekly deliveries for a period of one year. Prices shall include F.O.B. destination pricing. All feed must be research grade in accordance with the standards of the American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). Contractor must store, maintain and transport animal feed in accordance with guidelines set forth by the AAALAC and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations. Laboratory bedding shall contain no hydrocarbons. Milling date and product composition must be indicated on all containers of feed. Milling date must be no more than sixty (60) days prior to delivery. Bags shall be whole and intact, and not otherwise torn or damaged upon delivery and examination by the Government. If unacceptable, Contractor will be required to replace with acceptable product. Each package must be assayed prior to shipment for environmental contaminants and certified not to exceed key contaminants. Feed must fulfill Good Laboratory Practices requirements. Type of animal feed and bedding to be provided shall be the following: Global High Fiber, 4% Mouse/Rat Diet, S-2335 Mouse Breeder, Guinea Pig Diet, Aspen Sani Chip Bedding, Corn Cobb ?? Bedding, Fresh Bedding, Irradiated S-2335 Mouse, Irradiated LM-485, Mouse Breeder Diet (W), Sterlizable Rodent, Alfalfa cubes.
