- NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for aircraft operations and maintenance and research systems related aircraft modification at Ames Research Center and operation of the Moffett Field. These services will support research, technical investigations, scientific studies, airworthiness activities, flight operations and safe and efficient operation of the Federal Airfield. The services required involve the following technical areas: mechanical systems, electrical/electronics systems, instrumentation, software and data systems. NO PROPOSAL IS REQUESTED AT THIS TIME. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code is 488190. This acquisition is still to be determined whether it will be full and open competition or set-aside for small business. Once the determination has been made the synopsis will be revised to show the decision. The anticipated release date of the RFP is about December 2004 with an anticipated offer due date about January 2005. An ombudsman has been appointed?See NASA Specific Note ?B?. The Ombudsmen for each of the NASA installations and for the agency and their phone numbers are available at the following URL: http://ec.msfc.nasa.gov/hq/library/Omb.html No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or other documents relating to this procurement. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/ARC Business Opportunities home page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi . Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror?s responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
