Description

Work involves rehabilitation of 3 small hydrogenerators - Two 1250 kVA units at John H. Kerr Powerhouse and one 750 kVA unit at Philpott powerhouse. Work includes disassembly, inspection, testing, and replacement or rebuild of worn parts as well as rewinding the generators, replacement of excitation system, replacement of valves, piping and bearings, cavitation repairs, and other work needed to refurbish the units. This solicitation will include a Bidder Qualification - Special Standard of Responsib ility which requires each bidder to provide demonstrated past experience in this type work. Estimated cost range of this project is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Plans & specifications will be issued on CD-ROM ONLY on or about 17 December 2004 with bid openin g currently scheduled for 19 January 2005. The solicitation will be posted on the Wilmington District web page when issued and may be viewed or downloaded at the following internet address: http://155.82.232.41/ebs/Advertisedsolicitations.asp. CD will b e FREE of charge and should not be returned. Amendments will be made through diskette, CD-ROM, or hard copy, and will also be posted on the web page. However, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other documents required for bid submital shall be in PAPER MEDIUM. Electronic medium for bid submittal SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED.
