NEZ PERCE NATIONAL FOREST SUBJECT: RFQ-R1-17-04-025 MICROWAVE RADIO LINK SYSTEM AMENDMENT 3 Questions and Answers: 1) The specifications require the microwave equipment & mux equipment to be installed. There is no mention of the supplier providing & installing antennas and transmission lines. Should the bidder include these items? a. The Antenna and COAX cable will be supplied by the Government, installation and alignment will be done by contractor. 2) Should the bidder also include interfacing the E&M cards into existing radio base stations and or remote control units and setting all audio levels? a. Yes all interfacing and level setting should be done by the contractor. 3) What size Heliax are you providing for the RF equipment? a. Andrew LDF4-50 was planed and used in the link budget calculations 4) High Camp tower- manufacturer & model (or leg size) a. Plan for 2.375 in OD tower leg. 5) Antenna mfg. & model? a. Scala MF 940B minifelctor vertically polarized half parabolic with MXPK-2 mounting Kit for a 2.375 inch OD mast, provided by Forest. 6) Will the antenna mount directly on the tower or must a mount be provided (for larger leg towers)? a. Provided by Forest. 7) I assume the interface at the office is to the new Vega (or ?) remotes. At High Camp how many base stations will be interfaced? a. E&M interface to radio via the control card supplied by Daniels. 8) Manufacturer & model of base stations? a. Daniels MT3 with ACE3 control card with E&M interface. 9) Please verify the MUX card count. Your response to prior questions stated 3ea.- 2 ch. E&M cards, 1ea.- FXO, 1ea.- FXS and 1ea.- ring generator card. I am assuming that you want the FXO at the office, the FXS and the Ring Gen card at High Camp, but am not sure how many E&M cards for each end? Regarding the local phone line- do you want a 2 wire or 4 wire circuit. If 4 wire- can we use one of the E&M circuits from one of the E&M cards or should we include a separate card for the phone circuit? a. Planned for a separate card for the phone circuit, FXO to be terminated in the PBX at the office, FXS and ring generator located at Mountain top. Each of the 3 E&M cards should be capable of controlling 2 radios. 10) Line Item #2- Do you want 1ea. of the MUX cards as a spare (E&M, FXO,FXS, ring generator and phone card if separate card is required per #6 above). a. This would be correct. Microwave Radio Link System, Nez Perce National Forest, Idaho County, Idaho. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation R1-17-04-025 is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). Responses are due by June 25, 2004, 3:30 p.m., Pacific Time. Set Aside for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification Code is 423690 for communications equipment wholesaling, 500 employees. A quote is requested for four line items. One award will be made for all 4 items. The Government will make a single award under this solicitation. Note: CCR – a prospective awardee shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award. LINE ITEM 01: Licensed point-to-point 900 MHZ Microwave Radio Link System. System will function using 110 V AC Power, must be able to provide control and audio transmission to 5-tone remote control base station radios and one telephone audio line and come equipped with expandability up to 12 total control and audio circuits. Licensed frequencies: Grangeville TX 933.9750, RX 942.9750 MHZ - High Camp TX 942.9750, RX 933.975. Brand name or equal to MDS LEDR 900S micro by reference.
