- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is seeking qualified sources to consider in an award of a requirements type contract for various Detroit Diesel engine replacement parts to support Detroit Diesel Model No. 12V71 used as an air compressor drive on the 140' WTGBs and Detroit Diesel Model No. 6V-92-TA, used as main propulsion engines on the 47 Ft. MLB Coast Guard vessels. All parts shall be new and shall be manufactured by or for Detroit Diesel. Brand name is mandatory. The U.S. Coast Guard intends to incorporate the Detroit Diesel Parts Price Schedule into the contract. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to Receiving Room, U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. All items shall be delivered within 160 calendar days from issuance of delivery order. A requirements type contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. It is the Government's belief that only Detroit Diesel Corporation and/or their authorized distributors can furnish the required replacement parts and ensure the proper form, fit and function of all it's components. Concerns having the expertise and required capabilities to furnish the parts are invited to submit complete information discussing the same within 15 calendar days from the day this notice is posted. Additionally, other potential sources desiring to furnish other than Detroit Diesel parts are required to submit the following information: (1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered parts (i.e., salient physical, functional, and performance characteristics) and/or (2) Data that the offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer. This data must include sufficient information to allow the Coast Guard to evaluate the information relative to the above requirements. Concerns that respond to this notice must fully demonstrate the capability to accomplish the above and are to supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate a bona fide capability to meet the requirements. Inquiries/information received after the established deadline shall NOT be considered for this acquisition. The submission of this data for review shall not impede award of this contract. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps when issued on or about June 14, 2004. Contractors are encouraged to check FedBizOpps on a regular basis for the solicitation and any amendments.
