- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following: 1) Fragment Gun, Part Number STANAG 4496, 40mm High Performance Powder Gun System. System consists of a gun assembly with smoothbore barrel, a fixed position gunmount with recoil suppressor, and a remote electric firing system; that is capable of launching saboted 14.3mm diameter fragments to 8300 ft/s in accordance with MIL-STD-2105C (Quantity - 1 each). This requirement is a manufacturer sole source to Physics Applications, Inc. due to unique capability. Any firms believing that they can provide the material may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice, clearly showing its ability to do so without compromising the program.
