ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) with administrative support provided by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Michigan Chapter. SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE: The 14th annu al TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium will be held March 15-17, 2005. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dearborn, MI. This Logistics Symposium brings together government and industry personnel to discuss and explore issues relevant to the const ant changes in the logistics environment. This forum provides an environment for networking and enhancing lines of communication. AGENDA: The Department of the Army is in a major transformation. This transformation impacts every area of the Army including soldiers, equipment, training and warfare. It is a process that will transform the current armed forces to a lighter modular force. The transformation represents the future full spectrum force-organized, manned, equipped and trained to increase strategi c responsiveness across the entire spectrum of military operations from major theater wars to homeland security. The Army is also supporting operations in Iraq. This campaign will require enduring commitment. The Army supports the DOD Joint Forces with ca mpaign-quality combat support, and combat service support necessary to conduct sustained land warfare. It is vital the Army deliver its forces at the right place and time to defeat any adversary and control any situation across the full range of military o perations. Representatives from the government and industry will discuss the future of the Army, Logistics across a Joint & Combined Environment, Current to the Future Force Initiative, Sense and Respond Logistics, Network Centric Warfare, Performance Base d Logistics (PBL), Strategic Logistics, Strategic Alliance Partnerships and the Common Logistics Operating Environment (CLOE). There will also be briefings on Communicating Maintenance Data throughout the world, TMDE Strategies, Replacement for Out of Prod uction Parts, Supply Chain Management, Unit of Action (UA) and Unit of Employment (UE), Special Operations, implementing Life Cycle Management, Logistics Re-Supply from Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF), Lean Six Sigma, and the following Transformation Technolo gies: Biotechnology, Robotics, Advanced Computing, Power and Energy, Pervasive Situational Awareness, 3-Dimensional LADAR (laser and radar), Lightweight Survivability Armor: flexible armor and lightweight vehicular armor, Precision Lethality: advanced ener getics, dynamic retargeting and an electromagnetic gun. Micro Adaptive Flow Control: technology that enables control of large-scale aerodynamic flows using small-scale actuators, Unprecedented Mobility, Nanotechnology. An update to this brochure will provi de a more detailed agenda. The agenda will also be available on the NDIA website by December 2004 (www.ndia.org). An on-site service will be provided to enable attendees to download speaker presentations to their laptops. A CD will be mailed to all atten dees who request them after the event. SYMPOSIUM OBJECTIVE: Address a b road range of logistics issues and explore technologies that will transform the U.S. Army for the 21st Century. The Symposium will: review and demonstrate emerging technology; showcase world-class products and services; identify needs for new management to ols, re?search and products; review management and technical solutions now in design and development. WHO SHOULD ATTEND?: the Government and Industry community; logisticians, inventory specialists and engi?neers; maintenance and supply managers; commercial product support providers; liaison officers; researchers and product development representatives; production, process and information system specialists; every one interested in successful DOD logistics operations. REGISTRATION: The early registration fee is $325.00. After March 4th the registration fee is $375.00. Payment will be made upon registration. The fee includes: Continental Breakfasts, Reception, Buffe t Lunches, Bev?erages, Refreshments, Morning and Afternoon briefings, Exhibits, and the NDIA-Michigan Chapter Hospitality Suite. A receipt will be provided upon request. An update to this brochure will provide information on the registration process incl uding the form and the mailing address. HOTEL INFORMATION: The Hyatt Regency is located at 600 Town Center, Dearborn, MI 48126, telephone (313) 593-1234, fax (313) 982-6884. A block of rooms has been reserved. The rates are $107.00 for government and $113 .00 for industry. To ensure the discounted rate, please make reservations early and ask for the TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium reserved room block. These rooms will be held until March 11, 2005. EXHIBIT OPPORTUNITIES: TACOM and NDIA-Michigan Chapter invite you to exhibit. This symposium continues to be a world class event because of the commitment from government and industry representatives. If your organization or company is involved in some aspect of logistics, you should take this opportunity to exhibit your products and services. As we did last year, we expect to sell all exhibition space. Each 8' x 10' booth will include back and side drapes, a draped table and two chairs. The fee is $1,050.00 for the entire symposium. This fee will include the availability, on a first come, first served basis, of a business meeting room for exhibitors. Six-foot draped table tops will be available for $325.00 and poster displays for $100.00 for the entire symposium. Outdoor exhibits are also $1,050.00. Typ ically, outdoor exhibits are made up of stationary displays and vehicles. However, there is indoor space reserved for outdoor exhibits that meet NDIA-MIs space allocations and the hotels weight restrictions. Such indoor space requests will be handled o n a case-by-case basis. All exhibition space is allocated on a first come, first served basis. Electricity, telephones and drayage must be arranged through TurnKey Productions, LLC, the general contractor for this symposium. Charges will be payable direct ly to TurnKey Productions. The fee of $230.00 will cover symposium sessions, meals, snacks and the reception. Each booth or o utdoor (and indoor vehicle) space exhibitor can register up to two persons at $230.00 each. A discounted fee of $190.00 will cover meals, snacks and the reception but no symposium sessions. Each booth or outdoor (and indoor vehicle) space exhibitor can re gister up to two additional persons at $190.00 each. Each tabletop exhibitor can register one person for $230.00 and one additional person for $190.00. All other exhibitor representatives are subject to the registration fee of $325.00.
