- SOLICITATION NO: GSWR050016 - REQUEST FOR QUOTATION DATE: 20 October 2004 CLOSING DATE: 01 November 2004 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This acquisition is to be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with the test program for certain commercial items in FAR Subpart 13.5. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-25, dated 05 October 2004. This is an unrestricted acquisition. The U.S. Geological Survey, Western Fisheries Research Center, has identified a need to procure a solid phase laser scanning cytometer system. Interested concerns are invited to submit quotations, priced FOB destination to Seattle, WA, for the following Contract Line Items (CLINs): CLIN Quantity Description 0001 1 ScanRDI Microbiology System, catalog 201-A0002-04 0002 1 Motorized microscope stage for use with 0001 above, catalog 200-B0540-01 The pricing for CLINs 0001 and 0002 shall include delivery, installation, and on-site training for four (4) users. Quotations shall identify estimated time to delivery in terms of days or weeks after receipt of order, and shall include instructions for arranging installation and training. Offerors shall propose warranty terms as appropriate, for a period of not less than one (1) full year. For items 0001 and 0002 above, the description "brand name or equal" applies. The brand descriptions and catalog numbers are derived from AES-Chemunex, of Princeton, NJ. Offerors proposing to furnish an "equal" product, in accordance with the "Brand Name or Equal" provision of this solicitation, shall include the following description for the product with their quotations. Product Name: Manufacturer's Name: Address: Product make, model, or catalog description: Offerors shall also be responsible for submitting all additional information on the above product necessary for the Government to determine whether the product offered meets the technical requirements of the Survey as well as, or better than, the brand name product identified above. All quotations that both include "equal" products and meet the other requirements of this solicitation will be reviewed by cognizant technical personnel. The offeror will receive a written determination as to the technical acceptability of the proposed "equal" solution within 30 days of the closing date of this solicitation. Quotations are due by 05:00 p.m. local time, Monday 01 November 2004, to the contracting office in Sacramento, CA identified above. Quotations received after this time and date will not be considered. Quotations are preferred by electronic means (email and fax), but are accepted by mail. Oral quotations will not be accepted.
