- A sole source modification to contract W911S6-04-D-0002 to increase the level of effort is contemplated with Research Triangle Institute, 3040 Cornwallis Road, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709-2194 to provide non-personal services. Services include a erosol system and swatch testing to support developmental test programs, system and swatch testing support of method development and provide technical expertise on existing aerosol testing of chemical and biological individual protective equipment. Initial performance period will be from initiation of the contract through December 2004. Although the additional level of effort to be performed is within the original intent or scope of the contract, the work was not envisioned or anticipated during the develop ment of the original establishment of the contract earlier this year. This support will include facilities and labor conduct of testing, labor intellectual support, travel and some documentation preparation as required. Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 ?(1), and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, supplies, services, and/or equipment required are available from one responsible source and no other types of supplies, services, and/or equipment will satisfy agency requirements . This action requires FAR 6.302-1 authority because Research Triangle Inc. (RTI) is the only organization certified by the Chemical Defense Equipment Process Action Team (CDE PAT) for the Department of Defense. The point of contact concerning this action is Mr. William E.
