Description
The 11th Contracting Squadron, Bolling AFB DC intends to award a simplified acquisition on a sole source basis to the Air Force Historical Foundation for the purchase of 4000 copies of 4 quarterly issues (winter, spring, summer and fall) of the magazine ?Air Power History? in support of the USAF History Office. The Air Force Historical Foundation is the exclusive publisher of this magazine and has been continuously since 1954. It provides the very best in articles, book reviews, news and notices relating to aerospace history. No other similar journal on this subject exists. The Air Force Historical Foundation owns the copyright for the Air Power History Magazine. The contractor shall carry out the project using contractor space, equipment, supplies, and mailing costs. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 511120 and the corresponding SIC code is 2721 with the size standard being 500 employees. All interested parties are encouraged to provide information on their capabilities to meet this requirement. In order to be considered a potential source, interested parties must submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating the capabilities to satisfy the requirement specified above and advantages of the Government to consider another source. The documentation shall include prices and descriptive literature containing sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide capability to meet this requirement. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis. If no affirmative written response is received within 14 calendar days after publication of this synopsis that a comparable source is available, an order will be placed against the contract mentioned above. The period of performance is one base year (15 December 2004 through 14 December 2005) and nine 1-year options for a total of 10 years. (Note 22)
