Description

ZEALAND BRIDGE DECK REPLACEMENT, USDA Forest Service, White Mountain National Forest, NH. Project consists of the removal of a two-span bridge and replacement with a clear span bridge superstructure over the Ammonoosuc River near Twin Mountain, NH. Tasks required include demolition of a two-span bridge, with pier, fabrication, and construction of a new bridge. The new bridge will be a composite concrete deck with weathering steel girders, including rails and approach rails meeting AASHTO crash requirements. Some modification of existing abutments is also required. Bridge must be closed and constructed during the off-season to avoid a temporary closing. There is no temporary bridge. Wetlands permit is being taken care of the USDA Forest Service. Location of the job-site: located on Forest Road 16 (Zealand Road), at approximately MP 0.10, which is approximately 2-miles east of Twin Mountain on Route 302. PRE-BID MEETING: Wednesday, November 10, 2004, 10:00 AM, at the USDA Forest Service, Supervisor's Office, 719 N. Main Street, Laconia, NH. Prospective bidders are advised to visit the job-site prior to the pre-bid meeting. Any question regarding the pre-bid meeting should be directed to Mary Gebhart, 603-528-8748. TENTATIVE PROJECT SCHEDULE: Contract award by 12/31/04. Due to lead-time for steel purchase and availability of the job-site, project start date on/around 9/6/05, with a 90-day performance period. Construction estimate: $250,000 - $500,000. Bid packaage will be available on this FEDBIZOPPS website on/around November 1, 2004.
