- Arcata Associates, Inc. (Arcata/UNITeS), in support of the UNITeS Prime Contract at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), intends to negotiate on a sole source, "emergency basis", with MCI Inc., for the renewal of maintenance support services for Agency-wide Modular Video Teleconferencing Systems (ViTS), which provide audio and video communication capabilities for NASA users. The services will cover support for 15 systems located throughout the US. Arcata/UNITeS intends to award a commercial purchase order in response to this announcement covering the period of 20 May 2004 thru 19 May 2007. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, as proposals are being requested per the attached Request for Proposal (RFP) which is located in the attached Word file and includes complete service requirements, list of equipment to be supported, and ViTS locations. Interested firms have only seven (7) days from the publication date of this combined synopsis/solicitation to submit their proposals in response to the RFP. Responses received after October 22, 2004 4:00 PM CDST or without the required information identified in the RFP will be considered non responsive to the synopsis/solicitation and will not be considered. A determination by Arcata/UNITeS to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of Arcata/UNITeS. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor this Internet site for the release of any amendments, and clarifying questions and answers.
