- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the United States Army-Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purc hase order on a sole source basis with P.W. Allen, Inc. of Washington, DC 20037. This order will be for the purchase of one Explosive Ordnance Disposal Personal Protective Equipment set. This Explosive Ordnance Disposal Personal Protective Equipment set is of a proprietary design and is marketed solely through P.W. Allen Inc for US distribution. This Personal Protective Equipment is required to study state of the art in PPE designs for Nat ional Institute of Science and Technology Office of Law Enforcement Standards program to develop EOD PPE standards. This EOD PPE is one of a kind in design and is not a commodity product. This contractor has the capability to supply this EOD system, that i s required for CB testing/approval in the November 2004 timeframe. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determ ining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
