Description
This announcement is to provide notification of the Department of Veterans Affairs intent to enter into a sole source Consignment Agreement with Boston Scientific Corporation for FDA approved Taxus Express Drug-Eluting Coronary Stents. Boston Scientific will provide the stents in various sizes and quantities to be readily accessible for the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Veteran Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System. The Agreement will be for a twelve month base period with four one-year option periods. This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 13.501 (a), Test Program for Certain Commercial Items, in conjunction with Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113 and the Small Business Size Standard (SIC)is 500 employees. This requirement will be awarded on an unrestricted basis. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the product. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements must provide written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received the Veteran Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, will proceed with the intended consignment agreement.
