- The issue date for this solicitation is 8/23/04. The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for replacement of the fire alarm system at the Las Vegas NV P&DC. The existing system will be removed from the mail processing building and vehicle maintenance facility. A new system with voice alarm will be provided. The existing system will remain operational while the new system is constructed and be removed upon activation of the new system. Postal operations at the facility are 24 hours per day, and the contractor will be required to accommodate operations and other contractors working in the facility. Work will not be allowed in the plant between Nov. 15, 2004 and Jan. 2, 2005. Work can continue in the office tower during that period. The work is to be completed in 180 days after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $550,000-$650,000. This is an owned facility. A pre-proposal conference will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on September 8th at the site. Meet in the main lobby.
