Description

Cliff Creek Trail #226 Construction/Reconstruction on the Lochsa Ranger District, Clearwater National Forest, Idaho County, Idaho. Work involves 1.2 miles of new construction and 2.9 miles of reconstruction. Included is armoring two stream crossings, construction of one puncheon and construction of two rock retaining walls. Also included is removal of several rock outcrops by hand or with explosives. No motorized equipment (including motorized rock drills) will be allowed on this wilderness contract. This project may be advertised in 2005. The project is located in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. At Wilderness Gateway Campground (MP 122 Highway 12) take Boulder Creek Trail 211 to the junction with Surprise Creek Trail 219 (approx. 10 miles) then up Surprise Creek Trail (approx. one mile) to the junction with Cliff Creek Trail 226. This is beginning of the project. Estimated price range: $25,000 - $100,000. Est. start work July 1, 2005. THIS PROJECT IS POSSIBLE, BUT IT IS NOT CERTAIN IT WILL BE DONE BY CONTRACT. ALL INTERESTED QUOTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW THIS SITE THIS FALL, AS THIS PROJECT MAY BE ADVERTISED PRIOR TO SNOW MELT IN THE SPRING OF 2005.
