- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to contract with Raytheon Company P.O. Box 11337, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337, on a sole source basis to procure AEGIS Block 1B Upgrade Kits, Block 1B upgrade kits, Maintenance Enclosure ORDALT kits, along with ancillary hardware and support equipment for the PHALANX MK-15 Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) for FY 05 and option periods for FY 06 through FY 10. Raytheon is the only qualified domestic producer of the MK-15 CIWS and the MK-15 CIWS is of such a highly complex nature they require substantial investment in both time and money to qualify additional sources.
