- This is an amendment to the synopsis: Amendment- Arnold AFB, TN proposes a contract action for supplies and services with for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 with only one responsible source and no other supply or service will satisfy agency requirements for a Spectra-Physics Lasers, Inc YAG Laser System that will consist of the following items: Spectra-Physics Lasers, Inc. YAG Laser Oscillator/Amplifier Model No. PRO-290-10 (1EA), Injection Seeder Model No. 6350 (1EA), Harmonic Generators Model No. HG-4A1(1EA), diachronic beam splitters Model No. HIS-532, Quanta Ray Pulsed No. BD-6 (1EA), Upgrade Power Supply NSI-2 (1EA), and DI timer cycler No. 0455-0330. Specta-Phyiscs Lasers, Inc. is the only vendor found who can support this requirement. Supplies and/or services are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals, however interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement for the Government+s consideration by submitting their product capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00 p.m. local time on 19 Oct 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. If no response is received by 19 October 2004 at 02:00PM, CST, to the effect that comparable support services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and or services through sole source procurement with Spectra Physics Lasers, Inc., a sole source award will be made. Arnold AFB, TN has a requirement to purchase a high-powered, short-pulse, tuneable, narrow-linewidth, frequency-doubled laser for use in a laser-based measurement system for studying combustion. It shall be an infra-red YAG laser that is frequency doubled to the green (532 nm). It shall be injection seeded to produce the tunable, narrow linewidth pulses. The period of performance is 19 Nov 2004. Transportation FOB Destination. This a brand name or equal Spectra Physics Quanta Ray Model 290-20 with model 6350 Model injection seeder and Model HG-4A-1 Harmonic Generator or equal.
