For the purpose of this announcement, the Federal Government defines a small business as an entity having 500 employees or less, including affiliates. Small businesses must have the ability to provide 24-Hour Specimen Container to VA facilities in all 50 States and Puerto Rico. Small businesses will be required to make deliveries to VA facilities within 10-15 days from date of receipt of order. Successful contractors may be required to allow the distribution of awarded products through VA Prime Vendors for delivery to VA facilities. The minimum item(s) description requirements and values are as follows: 1. Acid resistant 2. Non-breakable 3. Opening equal to or greater than 2 inches across 4. Color brown/orange 5. Handle 6. Capacity equal to or greater than 3000 ml 7. Graduated markings 8. Leak-proof container 9. Leak-proof screw type lid 10. Ease of open/close top 11. Ability to mark on surface Estimated Annual Value: $44,806.10 Interested small businesses should respond with their capabilities in writing to the Contracting Officer at Adrienne A. Albachiara, Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisition Center (049A1N2MS), P.O. Box 76, Building 37, Hines, IL 60141 or adrienne.albachiara@med.va.gov. Interested parties responding to this notice must provide the name, address and telephone number of their company for item, 24-Hour Specimen Container, business size, and whether they are manufacturers or distributors of the above listed product(s) by November 5, 2004. Interested parties that are distributors must indicate whether they are distributing the products of large or small business manufacturers. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. THE VA IS NOT SEEKING PRICING OR OFFERS OF ANY KIND. THE VA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SOLICIT THESE ITEMS FROM LARGE OR SMALL BUSINESSES, AS APPROPRIATE.
