Description
The U. S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, Center for Coastal Fisheries and Habitat, Beaufort, NC intends to contract with Elsevier Science, Incorporated, New York, NY for 19 journals (electronic only),renewal of Science Direct bibliographic database searching service, and 5 years archival back files for the year 2005 (Jan-Dec): 19 scientific journal-Aquatic Toxicology; Biological Conservation; Continental Shelf Research, Ecological Modeling, Environmental Pollution, Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science, Fisheries Research, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, Harmful Algae, ICES Journal of Marine Science, Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, Journal of Fish Biology, Journal of Sea Research, Marine Chemistry, Marine Environmental Research, Marine Pollution Bulletin, and Remote Sensing of Environment. Period for Archival back files (5 years 1999-2004), Science Direct searchable database containing over 1700 titles held by Elsevier Science, Inc. The intended procurement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit from only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. If no qualified responses are received, the Government intends to contract with Elsevier Science, Inc. This is not intended to be a competitive proposal. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in writing, to include name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and brief statement regarding its capability to provide the services. All proposals received within ten (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase order will be awarded based on this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code for this action is 511120. The Central Administrative Support Center (CASC), Acquisition Management Division (AMD), requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) before October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following website: http://www.ccr.gov/. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
