- This notice is to inform all interested vendors that the USDA, Forest Service, Washington Office of Acquisition Management, Fire and Aviation Support Branch, located at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, Idaho, will be re-soliciting National Wildland Fire Engine and National Firefighter Crew services. We anticipate soliciting offers and awarding contracts for the upcoming 2005 fire season. Interested vendors are encouraged to monitor the Government advertising Federal Business Opportunities Internet website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov to view upcoming related information (such as information meeting notices, solicitations, amendments to solicitations, etc.). Please be aware that hard-copy notices, pre-solicitation notices, solicitations, or mailing lists are no longer issued/maintained by our office. Therefore, it is imperative that vendors have Internet capability and monitor the Federal Business Opportunities website periodically if they wish to participate. We recommend that anyone interested in these two upcoming acquisitions check the website at least once a week, to ensure important advertisements are not missed. If you or your staff have any difficulty in finding the FEDBIZOPPS website, or the NIFC posted advertisements, please call Chris Kirk at (208) 387-5665 or myself for help. It is best to do this when both parties are on computers, so that we can walk through navigation to the site together. Please note that the Request for Proposals have not been completed or published for either requirement at this time, and this notice is NOT a request for offers/proposals. I am the Contracting Officer assigned to finish the administration of the current National Wildland Engine and National Firefighter Crew contracts and re-solicit the future services.
