- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate a follow-on SOLE SOURCE procurement with DELL Computers. The contractor will provide services to install Power Edge 18855MC Enclosure wit h supporting hardware and software and Power Edge 1855MC, Pentium 3.6GHZ, with supporting hardware and software. Dell is the standard in use throughout the Institute. Technicians are trained and certified to maintain Dell computers. Technical Service ag reement is currently in place with Dell. Competitive bidding would result in significant, project delays, would require duplication of cost to the government, and would not result in cost savings. This is SOLE SOURCE procurement under the authority of F AR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes. However, statements of capability to fulfill this requirement received from other responsible businesses prior to 2pm EST on 30 September 2004 will be evaluated.
