Description
This procurement is 100% set-aside for Hubzone business concerns. To order a CD, interested firms must register via the Walla Walla District web page at: (http://www.nww.usace.army.mil/ebs/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp). It is requested that registrat ion be confirmed with a fax to Gary Dahl, Contract Specialist, at 509-527-7216. The government cannot guarantee a bidder will be added to the bidders list if registration is not confirmed via fax to the above fax number. DESCRIPTION: SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS , INCLUDING DRAWINGS, WILL BE AVAILABLE ON CD ONLY. This solicitation will be issued on or about October 15, 2004. Estimated bid opening date for purposes of this synopsis is November 17, 2004. The Walla Walla District, Corps of Engineers, intends to award a firm-fixed price construction contract. Work will consist of removing two existing water chiller (heat pumps) and replacing the units with two new contractor furnished water chiller (heat pumps) of approximate 100-ton capacity. The contractor shall prov ide and install new mechanical controls, valves, piping, (steel pipe 6 inch diameter and smaller) and other appurtenances necessary for a complete and usable system. Existing water chiller controls are electrical/mechanical pneumatic type. Work will requ ire removing portions of the existing controls and providing new solid-state type electrical controls interfaced with the existing HVAC control system. Work will include providing and installing two new or refurbished 300-amp circuit breakers, along with new electrical branch circuitry to support the new heat pump and associated equipment. Some concrete coring (6-inch diameter and smaller) will be required along with some lead paint abatement (remove and dispose) as existing pipes and equipment are coat ed with lead based paint. ADMIN INFO: The estimated cost range for this job is between $250,000 and $500,000. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 1711 and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220. For the p urpose of this procurement, a concern is considered a small business if its annual average gross revenue, taken for the last 3 fiscal years, does not exceed $12,000,000. This is a set aside procurement in accordance with HUBZone set-aside procedures and FA R 19.1305. All responsible HUBZone business sources may submit an offer, which will be considered.
