- First Annual Federal Government Procurement Conference of the Americas Description The conference brings together for the very first time federal government procurement executives and suppliers from Canada, the United States, Mexico and other Latin American countries. The conference will be held November 15-17, 2004, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The 1st Annual Federal Government Procurement Conference of the Americas will include sessions on defense and security procurement, the purchasing needs and methods of civilian governments, along with the legal aspects of government contracting. You will hear from speakers from the respective governments and prime contractors as they share their experiences. You will also be able to arrange one-on-one meetings with representatives of government agencies and prime contractors to explore possible procurement opportunities. The conference will also focus on best practices and emphasize the development of better methods and standards for acquiring goods and services. The conference is being co-sponsored by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and the Canadian Commercial Corporation.
