- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District requires a contract to provide work in Dredge Material Containment Area (DMCA) 13B, Savannah Harbor. Work will consist of clearing and grubbing of the area, raising exterior embankments approximat ely 3 to 6 feet, assembly and installation of steel catwalks (some possibly Govt furnished) to existing weirs, and construction of embankment slopes around the perimeter of 29,000 feet of dike embankment. The construction of two approximately one-acre isl ands within DMCA 13B is included. Approx 700,000 cubic yards of earthen fill material will be removed from the interior of DMCA 13B to construct the dike, bird islands, and pipeline embankments. Ditching and dewatering of the interior of DMCA 13B will be required in some areas to dry the fill material sufficiently enough to use as fill. Some clearing and grubbing may be required. Performance period is 150 days from Notice to Proceed. The magnitude for this project is $1,000,000.00 to $3,000,000.000. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about 13 October 2004. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, faxes, etc.) will be provided. This procurement is 8(a) competitive and only qulified 8(a) firms in Region IV (GA, SC, NC, TN, KY, AL, MS and FL)are eligible to participate. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 1629 and North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 237990. The size standard for this NAICS is $28.5 million. Network Analysis will not be required.
