Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for mobile magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT) scans and ultrasound services at the Federal Correctional Institution, 2225 Haley Barbour Parkway, Yazoo City, MS 39194. The small business size standard for this requirement is $11.5 million and the NAICS is 621512. It is estimated the contractor will perform the following services during the base year: 40 each-MRI without contrast, 15 each-MRI?s with contrast, 25 each-CT?s without contrast, 15 each-CT?s with contrast, 25 each-ultrasounds. During Option Year 1 through Option Year 4 it is estimated that the contractor will perform the following services: 60 each-MRI?s without contrast, 15 each-MRI?s with contrast, 30 each-CT?s without contrast, 15 each-CT?s with contrast, 25 each-ultrasounds. These quantities are estimates only. Duties include, but are not limited to the contractor providing diagnostic tests requiring contrast media with radiologist interpretation of the diagnostic studies performed. The contractor will be required to fax a report to the Clinical Director within 3 working days. Following this action the written report will be mailed to the institution along with original films at the contractor?s expense. The MRI unit must be self contained, and be capable of generating its own power to perform the scan. The company must obtain their own electrical supplies and all radiological equipment must meet FDA Certification. The Radiology Technician operating the equipment must be licenced, or certified as Radiology Technician and have credentials demonstrating proficiency in operation of MRI, CT and ultrasound equipment and performance of the studies. The work is expected to start on or about October 1, 2004, for twelve months, with four possible one-year options to follow. Contract workers will be required to submit to security clearance requirements. We are publicizing this acquisition in this manner to determine whether there are firms with the interest and capabilities to warrant continuing to set this acquisition aside under one of the applicable programs, or whether services should be solicited on an unrestricted basis.
