Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for dockside repairs to the NOAA Ship RUDE, a 90 foot, 22 ft beam (molded); 7 ft 8 in draft, propulsion - diesel twin screw, electric 225/450 volts AC; crew size - 11. Vessel's homeport is 439 W. York St., Norfolk, VA. All work will be performed at homeport. The performance period will be 24 calendar days with a start date on or about November 30, 2004 and shall be completed on or before December 23, 2004. Basic and Optional contract items include but are not limited to Engine Alarm Panel Renewal; Stack Louver Renewals; Air compressor & Motor Overhaul; Anchor Windlass Overhaul & Preservation; Marine sanitation Device Repairs; Sounding Tube Repairs; Electric Motor and Controller Conditions Survey; Engine Shut Down Pull Station Repairs; Galley Food Disposer Renewal; Laundry Room Watertight Hatch Repairs; Potable Water Piping Modifications; Engine Room Door Renewal; Chart Table Renewal; A-Frame Cradle Repairs; Bridge Door Gasket Renewals; and Tail Shaft Replacements (Spares). All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications number MOA2-06(04), dated August 2004 and NOAA standard specifications, to be provided in the solicitation. Vessel will be available for inspection October 18th and 22 thru 24, 2004 at vessel?s homeport in Norfolk, VA (subject to change based on vessel schedule). Arrangements for inspection can be made by contacting the Port Engineer, Jim Stricker (757)441-6717. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued as an IFB. This award is intended for a firm fixed price contract using sealed-bid procedures. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency.
