Description
The Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia, is currently seeking sources to provide preventative maintenance services for pneumatic tube system as described below: Pneumatic Tube System Requirements: This is the annual maintenance contract for pneumatic tube system located in buildings 110A and 110B. Contractor is to provide all labor, materials, parts, transportation, tools, and equipment to maintain, repair, and inspect this system. The contractor will be required to provide 24 hours, seven days a week, and unlimited emergency callback service for emergency repairs. The contractor will provide a 24-hour toll free number for service call purposes at the beginning of the contract. The contractor will be required to arrive at the Medical Center within two hours from the time of the service call. 1. The contractor will provide 12 monthly preventive maintenance inspections. The items listed below will be scheduled for inspection within that timeframe. Inspections are to be completed during the last week of each month. Inspections and services are to be scheduled ten working days prior to beginning the inspections. a. The contractor will provide four (4) monthly inspections on the STATIONS. These inspections will be completed during the months of October, January, April and July. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Inspect_and_clean_inside_of_station.?= =?646?Q?=B7=09Adjust_power_supply?= to read 5vdc (+/- .1 vdc at the logic board level). =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_signal?= system for proper levels in and out. Check quality of signals. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check?= slidegate action for opening and closing, lubricate sendgate slide with spray silicone only. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_noise_levels_during_send_slidegate_action?= and receive slidegate action. Clean, lubricate and tighten bolts, as necessary. =?646?Q?=B7= 09Check_for_air_leaks_and_seal_as_necessary.?= =?646?Q?=B7=09Inspect?= slidegate limit switches. Check for cleanliness, spring action, make adjustment if necessary. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_and_adjust_(if_necessary)?= optics. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_receive_sensor,_magazin?= =?646?Q?e_sensor_and_overload_sensor_for?= proper alignment. =?646?Q?=B7=09Tighten_all_connections.?= =?646?Q?=B7=09Send_carriers_back_to?= the same station and check for anomalies. Correct any problems found. =?646?Q?=B7= 09Fill_out_station_maintenance_report.?= b. The contractor will provide two (2) monthly inspections on the CONTROLLER/PNEUMATIC LOGIC. These inspections will be completed during the months October and April. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Inspect_and?= clean circuit boards. Examine connections. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_power_supply?= voltages. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_interchange_optics,_and/or_head_optics.?= =?646?Q?=B7=09Examine?= blower control modules. Tighten all connections. c. The contractor will provide two (2) monthly inspections on the TERMINATION BOXES. These inspections will be completed during the months of October and April. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09_Inspect_all?= terminations for loose connections. Tighten terminal strip screws. Relieve stress on any wires not properly relieved. d. The contractor will provide six (6) monthly inspections on the IN-LINE OPTICS. These inspections will be completed during the months October, December, February, April, June and August. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Remove_sensor_and_clean_lenses.__Check_for_scratches,?= replace if necessary. Check for broken wires. Realign optics and check operation. e. The contractor will provide four (4) monthly inspections on the DIVERTERS. These inspections will be completed during the months October, January, April and July. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Perform_lubrication,_if_needed,_and?= alignment. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_stopping_action,_switch_conditions,_cable?= routing. =?646?Q?=B7=09Tighten_all_electrical_screw_terminations.?= =?646?Q?=B7=09Wipe_or_vacuum?= to keep system clean. =?646?Q?=B7=09Fill_out_diverter_maintenance_report.?= f. The contractor will provide six (6) monthly inspections on the AIRSHIFTERS. These inspections will be completed during the months October, December, February, April, June and August. They will consist of at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Same_activities_as_diverters,_but_required_more?= frequently. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_chain_tightness_and_alignment.__Lubricate_if_needed?= with Blue Label PJ1 Lube or white grease. g. The contractor will provide six (6) monthly inspections on the WINDGATES. These inspections will be completed during the months October, December, February, April, June and August. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Perform_lubrication_and_alignment.__Check_action_for?= smoother and correct sealing. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_return_springs_for_fatigue,?= check linkage for looseness. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_air_disc_for_wear.?= h. The contractor will provide one (1) monthly inspection on the BLOWERS. These inspections will be completed during the months October, December, February, April, June and August. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Examine_motor_starters_and_heaters_for_proper?= size. =?646?Q?=B7=09Measure_starting_and_run_current_on_motors.?= =?646?Q?=B7=09Measure_motor?= voltage. =?646?Q?=B7=09Check_electrical_connections.?= 2. The contractor will provide twelve (12) monthly inspections on the CARRIERS. These inspections will be completed during the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August and September. They will consist of a at least the following: =?646?Q?=B7=09Inspect?= and remove all faulty carriers from the system. Look carefully at rubbing band wear, latch closure/holding power, hinge action, smooth closure, and mechanical integrity. All inspections are to be scheduled through the Electric Shop Supervisor at (757) 722-9961 ext. 2059.
