- The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research is to solicit industry feedback regarding the proposed acquisition strategy for the following items: BSU-33B/B Fin Assembly, P/N 923AS641, NSN 1325-01-282-8343; MK 83 MOD 1 Conical Fin, P/N 923AS400 , NSN 1325-01-458-5888; MK 84 MOD 0 Conical Fin, P/N 1380529, NSN 1325-00-009-5573; BSU-85/B Air Inflatable Retarder Fin, P/N 1634AS100, NSN 1325-01-218-8419; BSU-86A/B Fin Assembly, P/N 923AS346, NSN 1325-01-437-8275. The suggested acquisition strateg y is to restrict to US and Canada and combine all fins on one solicitation for fiscal year (FY) 2006. The solicitation will be a Request for Proposal (RFP) with a Base year (initial quantity) and four (4) option years thereafter, FY07, FY08, FY09, FY10. Of fers will be on an all or none basis; proposals must include an offer for all fin configurations included in the solicitation for the offer to be considered. However, the government reserves the right to make any combination of awards that are considered i n the best interest of the government (see website listed below for more detail). The resulting contract(s) will be Firm Fixed Price. Parties interested in responding to a solicitation for the BSU-33B/B Fin Assembly, MK 83 MOD 1 Conical Fin, MK 84 MOD 0 Conical Fin, BSU-85/B Air Inflatable Retarder Fin, and the BSU-86A/B Fin Assembly are invited to indicate their interest by providing a brief summary to the Government. The summary shall include the companys capabilities, including a brief description of facilities, personnel and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the criteria, as well as comments, questions, or objections to the proposed acquisition strategy. Information must be submitted to: HQ, AFSC, ATTN: AMSFS-CCA-M, 1 Rock Island, IL 61 299-6500. Please respond no later than 12 Oct 2004 and identify Fins Sources Sought/Market Research as the subject of your response. Your responses can be hard copy mail, or provided on CD/Disk. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and sh all not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The information you provid e will only be utilized in the development of the acquisition approach for future requirements. An Industry Day (pre-solicitation conference) is planned for 27 October 2004 at HQ, AFSC, Rock Island, IL. An announcement will be posted with instructions rega rding Industry Day on the website listed below on or before 12 October 2004.
