- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Spectra-Physics Lasers, Inc., Mountain View, CA, under the authority of FAR 13.301-1(b) Soliciting From a Single Source, to renew gold on-site maintenance of (1) Millennia V P (S/N 1730) 5W Diode Pumped Green Laser System. This is a sole source requirement as Spectra-Physics is the manufacturer of the instrument and is the only source with trained service technicians that can be quickly dispatched for service calls, and are the only source for genuine Spectra-Physics OEM (original equipment manufacturer) spare components/consumables to ensure the laser remains fully operational with minimal downtime. A fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about October 8, 2004 for a 1-year period beginning October 25, 2004 and will include three (3) 1-year option periods. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition
