Description
The USDA Agricultural Research Service in Corvallis Oregon has a requirement for a multipurpose Imaging System for DNA, RNA, protein, fungal and plant tissue analysis. The system will consist and have following capabilities: a 3.2 megapixel regulated cooled CCD camera, with resolution of 2184 X 1472 pixels delivering 16 bits dynamic range of data in a 16-bit file format and digital archiving. The camera will be regulated and cooled to least -10 degres C with dark field current no more than 0.2 electron/pixel/second. The system will be capable of: performing in gel as well as northern, southern and western blot analysis using chemiluminescent and fluorescent labeled probes, GFP excitation and visualization in plants and fungi, provide head room for samples of 6 inches; with range of focus and depth of field of 6 inches, provide epi and trans white and blue light illumination, a UV transillumination area of at least 25 cm X 21 cm at 2 wavelengths (302 nm & 365 nm) and epi UV illumination at 2 wavelengths. The instrument will be equipped with the proper filters for imaging the following dyes: GFP, Ethidium bromide, syber green 1 and 2, Cy3, Cy5, FITC/Fam, AttoPhos, HEX , 6-JOE, 5-ROX, sypro orange, sypro ruby and sypro red, 5-TAMRA, texas red. The system will be interfaced with computer that meet the following minimal requirements: Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz, 80 GB Hard drive, 256MB RAM, a DVD-RW, 10-100-1000 Network interface Card, Windows XP operating system, 17" SVGA LCD monitor. The analysis software will be provided as a site license with unlimited number of users/seats. The Imaging Software must be capable of: measuring band intensity, analyzing and comparing multiple gels, normalizing gels based on migration distances, comparing banding patterns within and across a gel or gels, have a imaging manipulation suite (i.e. cropping, resizing, tint, hue, reversing), and be able to utilize/import/analyze tiff/jpeg images generated from other instruments. The imaging system be equipped with a large format digital thermal printer. RFQ's can be obtained by fax or mail to the attention of Bobbie McNicol at the address listed above. Set aside for small business concerns.
