- As a complement to the technology program initiated under RA03-01, HSARPA is initiating the Bioinformatics and Assay Development (BIAD) program to develop further and to extend the existing family of detection and forensics assays as well as to develop next generation assays and new tools for assay development. Under the BIAD program Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), which will follow from this Draft Statement of Work for Comment (DSWC), HSARPA plans to solicit research in new approaches to bioinformatics and biological assays development that will greatly enhance the Nation’s countermeasures against biological threats. HSARPA anticipates that this will program be a multi-year effort with interim deliverables. Further information on this announcement and presentations from related workshop (February 3, 2004) is available at www.hsarpabaa.com. The applicable electronic address for all correspondence for this BAA is BAA04-03@dhs.gov. We are soliciting comments from potential bidders at this email address by March 15, 2004.
