Description

8(a) sources are sought for production of the Nosecup Disc Valve for the M40 and 45 series Chemical Biological protective Masks. This is a sources sought for Presolicitation notice W52H0904R0362. Offers from concerns other than 8(a) contractors are not solicited. The Nosecup Disc Valve, NSN 4820-01-260-8703, P/N 5-1-1081, is a small umbrella-shaped disc. It serves as a check valve that prevents exhaled air from entering the eye area of the facepiece thus minimizing fogging of the facepiece lenses. The disc is made of silicone rubber and measures about 0.56-inches in height by 0.92 inches in diameter. A detent on the stem area under the 0.92 diameters allows it to be installed on the facepiece nosecup seat. Item is packaged in small cardboard box es containing 10 discs per box. A cardboard insert in the box holds the discs in place to prevent deformation of the discs in the box. Award of a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract is anticipated. The total estimated quantit y over 5 years is 300,000 boxes (10 each per box). The maximum quantity the Government will be entitled to buy over the life of the contract will be 1,200,000 boxes. Estimated ordering periods will be from award date through 31 December 2009. Prospectiv e offerors must submit information (limited to two pages) detailing their past experience in producing similar items and their capability to produce this item.
