- Description
- The Navy requires AN/SSQ-53F sonobuoys, whose primary purpose is to detect acoustic emissions or reflections from potentially hostile submarines and transmit these signals to U.S. Navy airborne antisubmarine warfare forces. Stepladder quantities of 12,000, 20,000, 30,000, and 70,000 will be solicited on other than full and open competition basis with Sparton Electronics Florida, Inc. and UnderSea Sensor Systems, Inc. in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-3(a)(2)(i), ?industrial mobilization.? The sonobuoys shall be manufactured in accordance with a Production Sonobuoy Specification, and offerors must be a qualified manufacturer prior to contract award. This announcement is being issued for possible subcontracting opportunities. Numbered Notes 13 and 26 apply. Lot sizes will be determined at time of award with the first lot be delivered no later than 456 days after contract award and the last lot to be delivered no later than 730 days after c! ontract award. Delivery will be F.o.B. origin with destinations determined at time of lot acceptance. The solicitation will be posted on the NSWC Crane website at www.crane.navy.mil; no hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed. The solicitation is expected to be posted on or about 4 October 2004. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered.
