Amendment 2 (W912L2-04-T-0022-P00002) to Solicitation W912L2-04-T-0022. Due Date for Offers IS extended to Thur, 2 Sep 04. Current versions should include the version date in the file name (e.g. Cover PD v040826.doc): Cover PD (Cover PD v040826.doc) Para 3.1.3, Wire Partitions Para 3.1.4, Modular Cabinets App A, VRC (AppA - VRC v040823.doc) Para 3.1.1.5, Lift Height App B, Pallet Rack (AppB - palletrack v040826.doc) Para 3.2.2.1, Columns Para 3.2.3, Shelf Beams Para 3.2.4, Row Spacers Figure 1 (Fig 1 v040826.doc) Figure 3 (Fig 3 v040826.doc) Questions from Contractors are addressed: (questions, v040826.doc) Mezzanine/VRC Q-01: What is height to top of deck on mezzanine, from floor? Floor to deck (clearance)? A-01: There is a 10 clear height from the floor to the bottom of the deck, 11 ft 4 in from floor to top of structure and 11 ft 6 ¼ in from floor to top of mezzanine. Q-02: What is deck material (wood, bar grating, size, etc)? A-02: Type of floor is 20 gauge galvanized steel deck and ¾ in Resindeck on top. Q-03: Does handrail/kickplate at VRC location have to be removed? A-03: Hand rail and kick plate shall only be removed at the VRC location. Hand rail and kick plate shall be on both sides of the VRC opening. Q-04: Rackswill mezzanine support weight of loaded pallet racks, etc.? A-04: Yes, we require pallet rack, but will not load to entire capacity. Q-05: What/where is the available power for the VRC? A-05: Figure 1 illustrates the Power Panel. Modular Cabinets Q-06: Do modular cabinet drawers have dividers and partitions? What is layout, if so? A-06: Cover PD, para 3.1.4, is revised to remove modular cabinet requirement. Q-07: Cover PD, para 3.1.4, specifies 20 existing and 20 new cabinets, but Figure 2 seems to illustrate just 10 of each. Where do the other 10 and 10 go? A-07: Cover PD, para 3.1.4, is revised to remove modular cabinet requirement.. Q-08: What is the model number for the Stanley-Vidmar cabinets requested? A-08: Cover PD, para 3.1.4, is revised to remove modular cabinet requirement. Q-09: From where are the cabinets being relocated? To where? Are the cabinets full or empty? If full&what type of product and how heavy? A-09: Cover PD, para 3.1.4, is revised to remove modular cabinet requirement. Q-10: What is the size of the base plate for the existing modular cabinets? A-10: Cover PD, para 3.1.4, is revised to remove modular cabinet requirement. Wire Partitions Q-11: In Fig 1, drawings of bays: Cage  GFE? A-11: Yes, but it needs to be made smaller. Q-12: Is the Pilferable Cage square? A-12: Rectangular (square corners). It is under the mezzanine and doesnt jog or have cut-outs to avoid supports. Q-13: The wire cage has to shortened. Do we have to move the door to accommodate the VRC? A-13: The VRC does not impact the door. However, the reduction in cage size impacts the door rails. See changes in Cover PD, para 3.1.3. Q-14: Wire partitions (CPD 3.1.3)  relocated from where? To where? A-14: It must be resized. Two walls are shortened and one is moved. Q-15: What brand and sizes are they? A-15: Brand unknown. Size per specs. Q-16: Are existing wire partitions of bolted or welded construction? How are they attached to existing floor? A-16: Panels are welded, then bolted to uprights, and uprights are bolted to floor. Q-17: Are all wire partitions currently existing or will some be purchased through this solicitation? If latter, please specify. A-17: Cage size is to be reduced. Vendor may choose to modify or replace some panels. See changes in Cover PD, para 3.1.3. Q-18: Are there currently gates in the pilferable area? If so, where are they located and what are the dimensions? Will they be relocated? What brand and style? A-18: Pallet Racki ng Q-19: For verification, are the uprights green and beams orange? A-19: That is correct. Q-20: Will we accept used racking? A-20: No. Q-21: In Fig 1, drawings of bays: C and C1  GFE? A-21: Yes Q-22: Which existing racking is being relocated? From where&to where on the drawing? A-22: GFE requires relocation (same level only). Q-23: Sir, on the height for the pallet racks, standard height is 96 in or 8 ft. Will that height work?? A-23: No. Provide as specified. Q-24: For figure 1, what is the racking called C? What is the racking called D? A-24: C and D are GFE. Q-25: App B, Pallet Rack, para 3.2.4, Row Spacers, calls for a 6 in flu space for type B rack. But the vendor doesnt see any back to back rack. A-25: That is correct. Para 3.2.4 is changed. Q-26: App B, Pallet Rack, para 3.2.3, Shelf Beams, specifies &bay width of 108 inches for Type B1. Figure 3 specifies width of 8 ft for B1. Which should it be? A-26: Figure 3 is changed to reflect correct dimensions (in accordance with App B). Q-27: What is the correct shelf beam length for B1 and D1 and D2. The drawing shows them =. But the spec has them different. A-27: Figure 3 is changed to reflect correct dimensions (in accordance with App B). Q-28: There is a discrepancy between Figure 3 and Appendix B related to the length of Type B1 racking&is it 108 in as reflected in the appendix or 96 in as shown in the drawing? A-28: Figure 3 is changed to reflect correct dimensions (in accordance with App B). Q-29: Understand D1 and D2. What is D? A-29: Type D is GFE; it is already there. Q-30: What is D2 Tire Rack? A-30: This is 24-inch deep rack with 8 in 6 in uprights and shelf levels at 3 ft, 6 ft and 7 ft 6 in. The bottom two levels shall have adjustable angle iron for tire supports. Figure 3 is changed and should clarify. Q-31: Type D2 Rack: Is this tire rack beams on the bottom only and the rest to be standard beams? A-31: D2, Tire Racks will have tire rack beams on two shelves. Figure 3 is changed. Q-32: Does the D2 Tire Rack require adjustable rails? A-32: Yes. Q-33: Fig 1, Under Mezzanine Layout, shows two rows of type D1 rack with building column between them. Do we need 12 in row spacers for this? A-33: Rows separated by columns are not considered back-to-back. Row spacers are not required.
