- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Detachment Philadelphia, intends to procure professional decontamination services to remove mold and mildew from objects, for the Naval Historical Center. A highly skilled professional Decontamination service will be needed to clean and remove mold and mildew from 12,000 books and miscellaneous materials located in the Library?s Special Collections and approximately 1000 items out of an estimated 5, 000+ affected objects located in their Curator Branch?s Uniform Room. The contractor will provide professionally qualified and trained technicians under appropriate medical surveillance, equipped with appropriate respiratory and skin protection utilizing a HEPA/Organic filter cartridge. Appropriate cover-all suits and biocide and mold resistant, gloves, are to be used. Contractor?s agents must be familiar with the proper techniques and principles guiding the care, handling and storage of historic textiles and other historic objects. They must also be educated in the scope and causes of fungal contamination, medial constraints and OSHA regulations. This service is for the Naval Historical Center (NHC) and all equipment and services will be provided by the contractor. The SIC Code is 7342. Solicitation number N00600-04-Q-0633 will be available approximately 19 Aug 2004 and can be downloaded from http://www.neco.navy.mil. The solicitation may be processed following normal commercial item procedures in accordance to FAR 13.5. The Government may award on initials.
