- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue an order to Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems, 1847 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, 02871-1087 for the contractor to repair, modify and update Mk73 MOD 1 Transmitters on three LHD Class Ships to the MK73 MOD 3 configuration. NAVSEA intends issuing this order under NAVSEA Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00024-00-G-5480, which provides materials and services to overhaul, repair, modify and/or update components of the MK57 NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System (NSSMS). The MK73 Transmitter is a component of the MK57 NSSMS. Under the order Raytheon will provide all necessary services and materials for installation planning and preparations, the removal, repair, modification and update of existing MK73 Transmitters, and shipboard installation and testing on three (3) LHD Class Ships. Raytheon is the sole designer, developer and producer of the MK 57 NSSMS, including the MK73 Transmitter Set and continue! s providing support, including land-based test sites for the MK57 NSSMS on a sole source basis. Raytheon is the only known firm possessing the requisite technical expertise and engineering background capable of performing the effort. This order will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1).
