- Description
- The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research is to identify potential sources capable of either laser cutting or water jet cutting armor steel. The armor steel plates, MIL-A-12560, size .380 inches X 8 foot X 24 foot will be provided as Govern ment Furnished Material (GFM), contractor shall cut the plates in accordance with Drawing DTA182041 for Back Plate. The contractor will be provided 290 plates of armor steel as GFM, the contractor will laser cut or water jet cut these plates into 1,150 ba ck plates in accordance with the drawing. The approximate size of the back plate is 77.7 inches long X 61.25 inches wide. Delivery of the back plates would be 2 weeks after receipt of the GFM, the plates would be delivered to the following destinations: 579 each to Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL 61299, 106 each to Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA 17201, 145 each to Sierra Army Depot, Herlong, CA 96113, 217 each to Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, NY 12189, 29 each to Red River Army Depot, Te xarkana, TX 75507, and 72 each to Crane Army Ammunition Activity, Crane, IN 47522. Firms capable of providing the above cutting services can indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief summary of their company capabilities/history providing this type of services. Your request must include Cage Code, Company Name, Address, Phone Number, email address and a point of contact. Please respond NO LAT ER THAN September 7, 2004. This is a sources sought for planning purposes and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sour ces sought or otherwise pay for information solicited. The information you provide will only be utilized by TACOM Rock Island in developing its acquisition approach for future requirements.
