Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract based on a Sole Source basis to Undersea Sensor Systems, Inc., 4578 East Park 30 Drive, Columbia City, IN 46725-8869. NUWC is procuring seven (7) reusable SSQ-53FGPS Sonobuoys, Part# 90024A/Mod 1 and one (1) 16 Channel GPS demodulator/splitter, Part # 90029A. This action is being processed on a Sole Source basis due to the fact that this hardware must be a direct replacement for existing hardware. Both the GPS sonobuoys and demodulator/splitter must be directly compatible with existing Multiple Receiver Buoy (MRB) hardware and software. Undersea Sensor Systems Inc. (USSI) is the only vendor that can supply this hardware. Replacement of this hardware with another manufacturer?s hardware will force the redesign of critical system components, resulting in duplication of previous expenditures. A request for quote will be released on or about 27 August 2004. The government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination. Award is expected on or about 2004 Sep 10. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
