- The National Park Service (NPS) intends to issue a prospectus soliciting proposals for a 10-year contract for the operation of food and lodging services at Granite Park and Sperry Chalets (two backcountry chalets) in Glacier National Park on August 30, 2004. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51 has determined that an existing concessioner, Belton Chalets, Inc., is a Preferred Offeror for this contract. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Chief, Business Resources Division, NPS, Intermountain Region, P.O. Box 25287, Denver, CO 80228-0287 (Federal Express address: 12795 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80228) no later than 60 days after the release of the prospectus in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract to provide these services within Glacier National Park. The prospectus will be issued on August 30, 2004 with proposals due no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 29, 2004. The prospectus is available on the Glacier National Park website at http://www.nps.gov/glac/services.htm. Hardcopies are available upon request for a cost recovery charge. The fee is $30 per copy if picked up in person and $35 per copy if mailed. To request a copy, mail or bring in person a check or money order (NO CASH SALES) made payable to the NPS. A Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number (SSN) is required on all checks. For mail requests include a street address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express delivery. If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your prospectus from the website, we recommend that you advise the park of your interest so your contact information can be placed on a mailing list to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the prospectus. Those receiving a hard copy or been placed on the mailing list will be provided a written update. Updates will also be posted to the above mentioned website. The chalets will close for the season after September 11, 2004. Although the trails to the chalets will remain open, no site tour or access within the buildings will be provided. Photos of the exterior and interior of both chalets are included in the prospectus.
