Description
In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration's Acquistion Management System (AMS) Section 3.2.1.3.12, the FAA Alaskan Region is announcing that it has a requirement to contract for an HVAC construction project consisting of upgrading the cooling system in the Equipment & Automation Rooms at the Fairbanks AFSS in Fairbanks, AK. This solicitation is set-aside for small businesses. The issue date is anticipated on or about September 9, 2004, with a closing date on or about September 20, 2004. Requests for the solicitation package must be in writing to Theresa A. Clark, FAA, Acquisition Management Branch, AAL-59A, 222 W. 7th Avenue #14, Anchorage, Ak 99513, or faxed to (907)271-2326. Only a small number of solicitation packages will be printed. To ensure you receive a package, requests for the package must be received by close of business September 8, 2004. "This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businessess owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000. For further information regarding the bonding and lending programs, please call the DOT Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization at (800)532-1169."
