Description
C-Architect-Engineer Services, Solicitation # GS-04P-04-EXC-0039 ? Charlotte, North Carolina, Contracting Officer's Phone Number(404) 331-4630. Industry Day. On Tuesday, August 31, 2004, The United States General Services Administration (GSA), will conduct an Industry Day for Small Business Architect/Engineer firms, which may be interested, in participating in the design phase of the new United States Courthouse in Charlotte, North Carolina. Industry Day will be conducted from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Charles R. Jonas Federal Building, 401 West Trade Street, Charlotte, North Carolina in the Ceremonial Courtroom located on the second floor. Please arrive early to allow time to go through security. Picture IDs will be required. Cell phones, laptops or any other electronic equipment will not be allowed in the Federal Building. The facility to be designed and constructed will consist of 390,724 gross square feet and will provide space for the U.S. District Court, the U. S. Magistrate Court, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and associated chambers. Space will be included for the U. S. Marshal Service, the U. S. Attorney, U.S. Probation Officers, U.S. Pretrial Service, Public Defenders and GSA. There will be sixty inside parking spaces. The courthouse will be located within the Central Business District, of Charlotte, North Carolina. The Estimated Construction Cost Range is approximately $80 million to $90 million. Industry Day is intended to affirm GSA?s recognition of the talent that exists in the Small Business Community and its commitment to opening a dialogue between that community and the short-listed A/E Design Firms that have been selected for this project. Prospective Small Businesses will be given an opportunity to network with the short-listed A/E Design Firms and to showcase their special talents and abilities as qualified consultants/subcontractors. Although it is anticipated that this Industry Day will assist the short-listed A/E Design Firms in identifying qualified consultants/subcontractors to meet the subcontracting goals established for this project, because GSA is not permitted by law to be a party to contractual relationships between the potential Lead Designer and Consultants/Subcontractors, any contracts that may develop as a result of Industry Day will be strictly private arrangements between the interested parties based on perceived ability and need. Questions about Industry Day may be directed to either David Gibson, GSA?s Small Business Advocate, Telephone (404) 331-2366, E-Mail: DavidA.Gibson@GSA.GOV; or Dinora Gonzalez, GSA?s Small Business Technical Advisor, Telephone (404) 331-3031, E-Mail: Dinora.Gonzalez@GSA.GOV.
